We have a few traditions every year that we do for Christmas. One is that for Christmas Eve everyone opens one present. That one present is always pajamas. Another tradition is that all the kids get nice clothes for church. Also all the kids get one big Santa gift, if possible something that they have asked Santa for. Well this year not all of Santa's big presents came in time for Christmas. With some good advice on the situation we decided to hold Santa's big presents. On Christmas Santa had filled there stockings and also we were blessed to receive anonymous gifts left on our door which we called Santa gifts. So the kids had no idea that anything was missing. Well the rest of the big gifts arrived yesterday. We spent most of the night taking things out of boxes and putting them together. We still had our tree up so we set out their gifts with a letter from Santa explaining that their gifts took a little more time then expected and to continue being good and he would be back next year. We were excited to see the surprise in the morning. About 6am we woke up to find that the front room lights were on. We got up and went in to find all the kids sitting on the couch they had not touched anything. They told us that they found these toys in the front room and they did not know where they came from. Well we helped and pointed out the letter and let our oldest read the letter. It didn't take long for the excitement when they kids realized that Santa made an extra trip just for them. I think it would have been nice to have this gifts for Christmas, but it didn't seem to matter to the kids and it was worth the wait!
